Started Another Anime

I know I haven't updated my Fairy Tail or Katekyō Hitman Reborn.  My main excuse for FT is that I am waiting for the new arc to be done.  Its annoying to watch 22 minutes and then have to wait a week for the next episode.  Though I do find myself chomping at the bits on most days.  KHR is a anime that I found that I have to take in small dosses.  It is just so slow going and has so much wierdness going on that I have to take a break after so many episodes.  I do plan on watching some more soon.  But anyway, a couple days ago I and a couple of my friends decided to have a anime day.  We had been given a list of odd, old, and/or underrated anime at one of the Youmacon panels.  We choose to watch Planetes, which is set in space in the future and the characters that viewer hangs out with are in the Debris Section.  There job being to collect the debris that has collected over the years that Earth has put out there to keep the space stations, shuttles, and new satellites safe. (A full summary from wiki at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planetes)   At first I was a bit leery of it since it is not typically the type of anime that I lean towards.  But, nevertheless, I watch it and came to really like it.  It starts off really slow and the main girl character, Ai Tanabe, is pretty annoying with her being a newbie and her ideals on love (she does have her moments though).  This is an anime that you have to watch at least six episodes in before it starts to get interesting.  I am on episode 17 out of the 26 episodes and plan on finishing it soon.  

This is how you meet a main character Hachirota "Hachimaki" Hoshino or 'Hachi.'  And yes, that is a diaper he is wearing.

The Other Cosplay

Sorry its up so late, but here is the other cosplay I did and the second group I was with for Youmacon.  The wig I had kept falling off so I wasn't able to wear this cosplay for long. T_T   I'll have to find a way to make it stay on better (probably a butt load of bobby pins).  Our Orochimaru's belt kept falling down as well, so we both decided to dress up in out other cosplay after the Naruto photo shoot.  I noticed that we all forgot a few small details on our cosplays but it didn't turn out too bad.

Youmacon

Well, Youmacon was a blast.  First time cosplaying and I think I did alright.  The only problem I had was that a lot of the panels had capacity of 70 people and there would be hundreds inline to get in.  I missed a lot because of this. :(  But still had a fun time, with awesome friends and a great crowd.  Anyway, here is the eevee evolution group I was with. ^_^  Might have some pictures of the Naruto group later if they send me the email.

Youmacon!

Youmacon starts today!  Picking up the badges today and then going in the morning.  My cosplays turn out alright, still have a few minor odds and ends to get done tonight.  Flareon's cosplay has a large tail and I can already tell that there will be no sitting for me, I can see myself whacking people with it without even realizing it. lol  Anyway, can't wait!  I am already stir crazy. ^_^

Cosplays For Youmacon

So got all the pieces of the kimono cut out and some of it is sewn together.  Got the wire bent the way it needs to be for the tail, now for just attaching it together.  Then I can put the material on it.  So Flareon is on its way to being done.  Most likely next weekend.  Still have to make the head piece but that will be the last thing I do.  Tsunade cosplay is almost done, some hemming and making the jacket is all that is needed.  though I have to find shoes for both of them...yeah.  Both of my wigs came in, now to find a hair straightener (They didn't have the wig I ordered so we switched it to one that was curly but doesn't need to be cut). So much work to do and only a little over two weeks to get it done.  But it will be worth it to have good cosplays for Youmacon!

Fairy Tail DVD and Blu-ray

Fairy Tail Part 1 is to be released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 22, 2001.  I am so getting it!  Also, here is the link that takes you to the Funimation website that has the trailer and the first few episodes of dubbed that you can watch.

Fullmetal Alchemist On The Big Screen

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos is going to be in more than a 100 theaters across North America. What theaters that it will be shown in is influenced by fans at Eventful.  Hopefully it will be close by so I can watch it on the big screen!  ^_^

Naruto Abridged & Yugioh Abridged...And Youmacon?

Fairy Tail 96 & 97 Spoiler Alert!

Gajeel is going to be Levy's partner for the competition to be a S class FT member!  Perfect match, strength and brains lol.  I personally think Gajeel is a little soft on the blue hair smarty.  Carla has foreseen a 'death' during the competition.  We will see if anyone actually dies.  And why does the guy that killed everything want to meet Natsu so badly?  Hopes for death? Under orders?  Eh.  Mystogan had an apprentice, Mest, who is now going to help Wendy during the competition? I love how these two episodes threw in new characters.  Now Cana is creating/has drama about leaving FT if she does not pass as a S class because of something to do with meeting up with a person that we have not been introduced to yet. (-_-)'  Anyway, excited for the next episode.

Side Note:  Is there going to be a cat fight between Lucy and Lisanna for Natsu?

Anime Club

So the Anime Club that I am apart of is watching both Spice and Wolf & Corpse Princess.  I haven't seen either of them and we are only four episodes in on each.  I don't know yet if I like Spice and Wolf, and Corpse princess while having a lot of action (not even good action from the main fighter) doesn't have a lot of depth as of yet.  But, like I said, we just started them.  They could get better.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn Art (Spoiler Alert)

Best wallpaper ever!  It just so pretty ^_^  Love the perspective of Tsuna, hand in your face with him looking at he viewer.  I also like the blue glow of his glove when the rest is warm colours.  Overall, the piece is balanced, eye catching and dramatic.  Love!

Fairy Tail Ep 95 Spoiler Alert!

What a great episode!  Tied up the story on the Exceeds sending their children to Earthland, Gazelle got his cat (though he shrank a bit), and Lisanna is back!  This episode was a heart mover. T_T

Side Note:  What is up with the arm thing? lol

Gazelle is so funny ^_^  Lily, on the other hand, does not look impressed.

Question:  So, we have a fire, air and metal (could you consider him a earth dragon? probably not) dragon & slayers.  Are we going to see a water dragon slayer? Or even another dragon slayer at all?  I consider it to be a bit weird that they did a metal dragon slayer instead of an earth dragon slayer (don't get me wrong I love Gazelle and don't want him to be any different). Anyway, just something I was thinking about.

Fairy Tail Ep 94 Spoiler Alert!

This episode was very funny!  ^_^  And Natsu taking the blame at the end, perfect.  But I want to know how he recharged from the exhaustion he and the other dragon slayers had.  Must have found a large bonfire somewhere, lol.  Interested to see how the exceeds integrate into their new world.  Am a bit confused on how the people from Earthland got sucked up by Anima but not Jellal.  After all, he was able to preform magic without items against Luxus (though he did rely on them).  So in theory, he should be sucked up as well...

Hellsing Ultimate Episode 8

Hellsing Ultimate Episode 8 has been out for a few weeks but I have only just now watched it.  And it is awesome!  But I don't think this is the final episode of the series.  It, after all, leaves you hanging onto the edge of another cliff.  I am pleased and yet disappointed that this is probably not the end.  It means I may have to wait for another two years before the next episode.  -_-'  But as of right now I am still reeling for this episode.  It was so damn good.  Here is hoping that the next doesn't take nearly as long.

Fairy Tail Ep 93 Spoiler Alert!

Epic fight between the dragon slayers and the Droma Anim before the draining of Edolas' magic. ^_^  And of course Natsu was epic.  King is sour.  Love how the showed the three different types of dragons several times in this episode.

Then you have the prince asking Lily to kill him and become king of the magic-less world.  I can not see that happening.  Something is going to happen to either change his mind or make it so its fixed without his dyeing.  Besides Gazelle stated that he wanted Lily as his cat, I don't think they just threw that in there for kicks and giggles.  Well, as always, I am itching for the next episode (and trying to resist urge to read the manga).

Side Note:  I wonder how many more episodes will be in this arc?  I know that the manga is on the main baddie that has been hinted at in the anime, and then blatantly suggested at the end of the Tower of Heaven fight.

Side Note #2:  Are they changing Natsu's and Gezelle's hair permanently?  Or is it just for these episodes? Gazelle's hair looks ridiculous. (-_-)'

Katekyo Hitman Reborn Cosplay (Spoiler Alert)

Was searching different cosplay ideas on the web and ran across this awesome group that is cosplaying as the Arcobaleno from KHR in the second photo (not sure who are all Arcobaleno on the first photo is though).  I haven't seen all of these characters yet in KHR, but I had to post it anyways.  These guys are awesome! Reborn and Lambo are perfect.  They cut Lambo out of the second picture though. (T_T)

Fairy Tail Ep 92 Spoiler Alert!

Well, another awesome episode. ^_^   Ezra blocking Edo Ezra's attack with swords held by her FEET.  Made me laugh at the ridiculousness of it.  I am still upset that Edo Ezra cut her hair. >_<  I mean why? So she could look different from Earthland Ezra?  Dumb.  (Ditto with Edo Lucy)  Can't wait for the epic end of battle between the mecha dragon and the dragon slayers.  Here is hoping its in the next episode. Loved the humor in this episode.  Gives it a nice break in the 'seriousness' in this episode.  Though this is also true in all of the episodes. The writers are awesome!

I do like Mystogan's idea of taking magic away by reversing Anima, but what other consequences are going to happen other than just reversing Anima?  Will it interfere with the Dragon fight by taking the magic from the world so the mecha dragon can no longer gather any power?  Would kill epic fight :(  Or will Natsu, Gazelle, and Wendy beat the king before the reversal?  Can't wait to find out, but will have to with a week for the next episode. (sad face)

Note:  Crazy king is crazy.

Youmacon 2011

Finally pre-registered for Youmacon!  Only 81 more days. \(^_^)/  Now I just have to decide if I want to be there on Thursday and if my classes will allow me to do so.  I also have to get a room booked with my friends...and finish my cosplays...yeah.  Lots to do and not a lot of time to do it in with my schedule this semester. (-_-)  

A Nice App

Hey, found this Android app a couple of weeks ago.  It’s really nice and clean, lots of manga to chose from and is just overall the best manga reader for the phone.  Plus it’s FREE!  ^_^   I am surprised at how much I use it.  The saving chapters on the SD card, for when you don't have wifi or 3G, is a nice feature as well.  I wasn't to thrilled with the other apps that I have found and my brother told me reading manga on the phone was not the best idea because of the quality and size.  But I saw this and read the reviews and thought 'why not,' I can always uninstall it later.  Glad I gave into the impulse!

Youmacon 2011

Pre-registration is open!  Actually it has been open for a while I just haven't had the money to sing up yet.  maa maa  Should be doing that this Thursday though. \(^_^)/   I am actually making a cosplay, two in fact!  My firsts!  Going with two groups one we are doing a stylized eevee and evolution's from Pokemon. I'm Flareon!

Katekyo Hitman Reborn

KHR is a finished anime that I have only just started to watch.  It is a completed anime with 203 episodes.  I am currently on episode 9 and have come to the conclusion that this anime is weird.  Which, true, isn't saying much.  But still, this must be the weirdest anime that I have watched so far.  I mean get powers call dying will by being shot with a gun that is really a morphing lizard (Spoiler Alert: though there is indication of Tsuna being able to have this 'dying will' ability with out being shot).  But the anime itself is well done and from what I have read about it, the story line is pretty good.  It has many outlandish moments and is great for a laugh.  ^_^  I am the first in my group of friends to be watching this anime (which in and of itself is really weird O_O).

Side Note: As far as I know, FUNimation has not been released nor is working on making a dubbed version of KHR.  Which, from what I have seen so far, is a shame.

Fairy Tail Episode 91 Spoiler Alert

FT is updated every Friday night.  Last nights episode was awesome!  ^_^  Introduced Mystogan as Edolas' prince and a new dragon machine called Droma Anim or Dragon Knight.  Should make the mecha fans happy.  Wendy finally starts showing promise in fighting as a support.  If only her clumsiness wouldn't get in the way. -_-' And having Gezelle actually eat Droma Anim was hilarious! ^▼^ And poor Lily!

Side note: what is up with Ezra Knightwalker's outfit? It looks ridiculous.

By the way, the only thing about being current with an unfinished anime is that you have to wait a week for the next episode. >_<

Fairy Tail

Couple of weeks ago I found and fell in love with the anime Fairy Tail.  It is the perfect anime! ^_^  All the usual anime quirks but perfected.  Flashbacks are integrated and important to the story line.  So no groaning in pain.  Each of the main and side characters have back stories.  Few and far between fillers that are so integrated that you don't relies that its filler, basically so far, no filler arcs.  Fights are epic!  You fall in love with the four main characters: Natsu, Lucy, Grey, Ezra and the awesome blue flying cat Happy.  Natsu is epically awesome! Music is awesome too.  I highly recommend this anime.  Look it up, you won't regret it!  Also, great news!  FUNimation is bringing out Fairy Tail to the US this Fall!
